A Word from our Care Pastor
We are here to encourage you to find and follow Jesus through the transitions, challenges, joys, and sorrows of life. So, how do we "do" care ministry? Take a look at our hierarchy of care & care ministry groups below.
We have what we call the hierarchy of care:
- The first level of care for an individual is their family. Some folks grew up in our area, and they have an extensive family who can care for them. They don’t need a lot of support from our church.
- The second level of care comes from small groups. Small group leaders and members of the group come along side and provide meals, visitation, prayer and other support.
- The next level of care comes from ministry groups, who provide support to their volunteers just like small groups.
- The final level of care comes from the church for folks who do not have family support, and they’re not in small groups or serving in a ministry; which brings us to our Care Ministry which you can access by calling the church office at 610-459-8111 or emailing us at
Each of our seven pastors provides care support in the areas of counseling, prayer and visitation. They also officiate at weddings, funerals and child dedications. However, we are a large church, and the pastors can’t possibly meet all of the care needs. So, we have raised up a number of Care Chaplains who can assist with visitation, prayer and counseling. These men and women have been trained by a professional counselor, and they bring their life experiences with them.
We could use a few more Care Chaplains, particularly men, so please contact Pastor Bob Banks at if you have an interest in serving in this capacity.
(Care groups below are listed in alphabetical order)
Addiction Recovery Through christ
This group is committed to seeing men, women, and their loved ones freed from the bondage of addiction. We believe that through the power of Jesus Christ and a deepening understanding of God's word, they can and will conquer their addictions.
Our goal in counseling is to support and comfort others as God has comforted us in our need. Our God is 'the Father of all compassion, and the God of all comfort...' (2 Cor. 1:3) As you reach out to receive comfort in your distress, you will grow in knowledge and understanding, and will be blessed by God's love and the direction of the Holy Spirit.*
PLEASE BE ADVISED: As church counselors we are not professionals, licensed psychologists or psychiatrists. We simply offer Christian counseling based on the Word of God, and an opportunity for prayer led by the Holy Spirit.
DivorceCare is a 13-week support group to help you face challenges and rebuild your life in an emotionally healthy way. Each session features a video, workbook support and group discussion.
Family Support Ministry
We are family members helping families of loved ones impacted by a life dominating sin called addiction. As a community, we provide emotional and spiritual support for families dealing with addiction, while sharing our strengths and insights from our personal recovery journeys
Financial Peace University
We all need a plan for our money. Financial Peace University (FPU) is that plan! It teaches God's ways of handling money. Through video teaching, class discussions, and interactive small group activities, FPU presents biblical, practical steps to get from where you are to where you've dreamed you could be. This plan will show you how to get rid of debt, manage your money, spend and save wisely, and much more!
No FPU classes are scheduled at this time. Please check back for more info!
At Calvary Chapel, when one of our members dies we will be there to help the family walk through the process of bereavement. If desired, we will conduct a service in honor of the person's life, working in conjunction with the funeral home of your choice. Most of all, we will declare the reality of true life in Christ. It would be our privilege to help at such a time.
If you are grieving the death of a loved one, Calvary Chapel offers GriefShare, a friendly, caring group, led by Fran & Carol Krawiec, who will walk alongside you through one of life's most difficult experiences.
One27: Adoption & Foster Care
Our passion is to increase awareness of God's heart and love for His children through adoption and foster care, and to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ by creating a church culture where adoption and foster care are embraced and supported. If you're considering adoption & foster care
Specifically, we desire to:
Come alongside and support adoptive and foster families each step of the way as they walk this journey on which God has called them.
Encourage more families and/or individuals to adopt and foster children. Build a culture of adoption and foster care that engages not only adoptive and foster families, but others who wish to partner with us in responding to God's call to care for the fatherless.
We believe prayer unleashes the power of the Holy Spirit and activates God's work in us internally through His process of sanctification, and externally through our influence in the community, allowing us to live a life that glorifies Him and ushers in His kingdom.
Jesus said that we should visit those in prison (Matt. 25:36). If God is calling you to join other ccdelco volunteers who serve in various county and state prisons, please click button below to discover more details and contact information.
Congratulations on your decision to marry! Next to your decision to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, marriage is life's most critical choice. The decision to spend the rest of one's natural life with another human being should never be taken lightly. At Calvary Chapel of Delaware County we believe that the marriage covenant is one of the great gifts that our Lord has bestowed upon mankind, and is a major vehicle whereby we can bring glory to His name. We would love to be part of your wedding!
